Thursday is the day associated with the Throat Chakra. Named after the Norse god “Thor”, Thursday is called “Thors Day”, accordingly, and is governed by the Planet Jupiter.

Choosing to work with our Throat chakra on the “day of Jupiter” can help with the expansion of energies, whether this be opening to more prosperity or better communication.

💙This particular Thursday is further charged by Mercury entering the star sign of Aquarius. The influence of this Mercury sign means that communicating and finding ways for self-expression using modern technologies will carry you far during this time, and feel like a whole lot more fun than the trusty (but SO last-century) pen and paper. And if you’re someone who normally works in isolation, ensure you use this astrological vibe to get plenty of time with other like-minded folks. The energy of Aquarius feels very individualist, but in actual fact thrives in company.

💙💙Throat Chakra💙💙

The fifth chakra, the throat or Vishuddha chakra, sits in the area of the throat, jaw, neck, mouth, and thyroid.

In Sanskrit, Vishuddha means “especially pure”. As the throat chakra governs the mouth, tongue, and neck, it relates to communication and your ability to understand and speak your inner truth “purely”. When out of balance, one has difficulty staying true to themselves and expressing needs, desires, and opinions with themselves and others.

The throat chakra corresponds to the element of ether: space that forms the essence of emptiness. Our true selves exist in the space between the clutter of constant thoughts and emotions through meditation. In the calmness, we find the subtle element of ether and reconnect to the throat chakra.

When the throat chakra is in balance, we speak, listen, and express ourselves openly and authentically. When out of balance, we ignore our inner voice, feel afraid of expressing ourselves, or have trouble listening to others. A blocked throat chakra can also store tension physically and cause a sore throat or neck and shoulder pain.

Your expression is an offering that you make to the world. It is taking what is buried deep inside of you and letting it see the light of day. When you are unable to share your truth, you avoid being honest with yourself and with others.

Turquoise-An ancient and powerful stone that brings ease of communication, especially from our higher selves and spirit guides. Turquoise is good for boosting courage and clarifying what we need to evolve and grow.

💙Yoga-During yoga practice, you activate this area through poses that focus on your neck and throat, as well as breathing practices (pranayama) that create sound in your throat. Especially if you dislike the sound of your own voice, chanting can be one of the most powerful practices to initiate Throat Chakra healing.

Head Rolls and Neck Stretches. This yoga warm-up decreases stiffness in your upper back, neck, and jaw.

Lion’s Breath -Deeply inhale through your nose while lifting your hands into the air. Exhale and claw the air downward with your hands, extend your tongue, open your eyes wide, and create an audible sound in your throat. Let it stem straight from your Throat Chakra.

Repeat this three to four times. If you have a tendency to get a dry throat, decrease the volume and intensity of your “roar.”

💙Mantra- HAM

💙Mudra-GRANTHITA MUDRA:Interlace your last three fingers (middle, ring and pinky) together inside of your hands. Interlock the index fingertips and thumbs to form two rings and hold this mudra in front of the base of your throat. Inhale and exhale through the nose for 4 rounds of breath.

💙Meditation-“In meditation as my mind quietens, my body quietens also. When this happens I feel the dance of infinite awareness connecting me to all that is or could be”

Visualizations you can use when sitting quietly outdoors under a blue sky, or near a blue body of water, or meditating include: visualizing a blue light coming down from the sky and encompassing you, feel it saturate your body. Breath in the blue air, hold it for a few seconds giving it time to gather toxins and then breath out watching as blockages and negativities are removed.

🧡Yoga-For Creativity, Joy, and Flow:

Squat Pose -In Squat Pose, you bring your hips towards the earth and lift your heart towards the sky. Stay in this pose for five to ten breaths to build strength in your feet and flexibility in your ankles, knees, and hips.

Bound Angle or Butterfly Pose

In addition to providing a generous stretch for your inner groins and thighs, you can integrate an easy flow in this pose. Experiment with fluttering your knees up and down a few times. Then hold the position with your knees wide open and bow your heart and head forward towards your feet. Roll up through your spine to come back upright, then repeat this spinal roll a few times.

🧡Meditate-Meditation is like prednisone for the spirit. It has the power to reduce inflammation of all kind, physical, energetic, and spiritual. Meditation is great for balancing and healing the sacral chakra and all the other chakras too.

The frequency and quality of the energy flowing from each of our chakras is different. Each chakra has  its own type of spiritual energy, its own tuning. Spiritual energy said to be of immeasurable power, called by the Indians “Prana” and by the Chinese “Chi”, can flow through the chakras, but only if they are opened or activated. Technically speaking the chakras are the fields through which the energies flow, not the spiritual energies themselves. They are like doors. Certain tools and techniques unlock them.

Inner silence is the key to tuning the energies and integrating the conscious states. It is the sacred dimension or pure Awareness which unifies the otherwise unconnected states of consciousness. It is also the black hole source of the chakras. Thus all progress in spiritual disciplines depends upon reaching and retaining this inner silence.
Sunday is the day of the week that resonants strongly with Muladhara, the energy which is the origin of our sensing capacity or Root Chakra. A spinning red energy gateway grounding us.

AROMA: Root Chakra corresponds to our sense of smell so energize with it with smells of the earth: Balsam fir, Angelica or Cedar to name a few.

CRYSTALS: Red Jasper or Carnelian is an excellent stone to wear or meditate with for this chakra. When used in meditation, Carnelian assists in the understanding of how to bring a concept into being, and how to manifest it into action

MEDITATION: Visualize a red jewel in the center of the earth rise up and the swirling red ball of energy it becomes in contact with the base of your spine.

YOGA:
Begin conscious grounding to Mother Earth’s energies with tree pose:

You can use your ‘seeing red’ visualization as you firmly plant your entire left foot onto your mat and bring your right foot up into tree pose. Keep your hip points squarely ahead and your toes tucked in as you place your foot anywhere on your leg besides your knee. Be creative and make your tree pose your own. Place your right leg into half lotus or engage your core and reach your arms overhead, keeping the base of your neck soft and your elbows straight as you rotate the pinky side of your hands in to engage your triceps. Most importantly, feel supported and connected to the earth as you hold your tree pose for 5 to 8 breaths before switching sides——

This chakra is where security, confidence and self-esteem originate.
Root Lock or Yoni Bandha :

The Yoni canal connects to the clitoris and the entire womb. Women draw up at the base of the pelvic floor around the vagina and extending up to the mouth of the cervix. Draw in and up on the inhalation. Let go on the exhalation. Draw in strongly but not so much that you feel tension. It’s much more than a Kegel, which some feel is devoid of poetry and Eros. “It’s like this light that rises and illuminates the whole spine”.
Try squatting with your heels in and toes out, lean your torso in between your thighs with your hands together. As you inhale, engage Mula Bandha and feel the current rise from the earth and enter the pelvic floor. When you can’t inhale any longer, relax the squeeze on your exhale, without collapsing it entirely. You’re pulling energy up to tap into a subtle pulse, like the ocean tide.
