Thursday Throat Chakra

💙💙💙💙💙🌟💙💙💙💙💙

Thursday is the day associated with the Throat Chakra. Named after the Norse god “Thor”, Thursday is called “Thors Day”, accordingly, and is governed by the Planet Jupiter.

Choosing to work with our Throat chakra on the “day of Jupiter” can help with the expansion of energies, whether this be opening to more prosperity or better communication.

💙This particular Thursday is further charged by Mercury entering the star sign of Aquarius. The influence of this Mercury sign means that communicating and finding ways for self-expression using modern technologies will carry you far during this time, and feel like a whole lot more fun than the trusty (but SO last-century) pen and paper. And if you’re someone who normally works in isolation, ensure you use this astrological vibe to get plenty of time with other like-minded folks. The energy of Aquarius feels very individualist, but in actual fact thrives in company.

Time to come out of hiding, starlings!

💙💙Throat Chakra💙💙

The fifth chakra, the throat or Vishuddha chakra, sits in the area of the throat, jaw, neck, mouth, and thyroid.

In Sanskrit, Vishuddha means “especially pure”. As the throat chakra governs the mouth, tongue, and neck, it relates to communication and your ability to understand and speak your inner truth “purely”. When out of balance, one has difficulty staying true to themselves and expressing needs, desires, and opinions with themselves and others.

The throat chakra corresponds to the element of ether: space that forms the essence of emptiness. Our true selves exist in the space between the clutter of constant thoughts and emotions through meditation. In the calmness, we find the subtle element of ether and reconnect to the throat chakra.

When the throat chakra is in balance, we speak, listen, and express ourselves openly and authentically. When out of balance, we ignore our inner voice, feel afraid of expressing ourselves, or have trouble listening to others. A blocked throat chakra can also store tension physically and cause a sore throat or neck and shoulder pain.

Your expression is an offering that you make to the world. It is taking what is buried deep inside of you and letting it see the light of day. When you are unable to share your truth, you avoid being honest with yourself and with others.

We create Throat Chakra healing every time we express ourselves honestly and authentically.

💙Sage or burn ether incense(Mexican Copal, Frankincense, Lavender, Himalayan Sang, Sage Leaf and Sandalwood)

💙Light a blue candle infused with clary sage, German Chamomile and/ or peppermint EO to call in spirits, ancestors and to magnify intentions to share our truths.

💙intention-“I return to the Universe as much energy as I have received”

💙Earth’s Plant essences- German(blue) chamomile mixed with a few drops of Lavender, Clary sage and 1/2 drop peppermint EO

💙Earth’s Crystals-

Turquoise-An ancient and powerful stone that brings ease of communication, especially from our higher selves and spirit guides. Turquoise is good for boosting courage and clarifying what we need to evolve and grow.

💙Yoga-During yoga practice, you activate this area through poses that focus on your neck and throat, as well as breathing practices (pranayama) that create sound in your throat. Especially if you dislike the sound of your own voice, chanting can be one of the most powerful practices to initiate Throat Chakra healing.

Head Rolls and Neck Stretches. This yoga warm-up decreases stiffness in your upper back, neck, and jaw.

Lion’s Breath -Deeply inhale through your nose while lifting your hands into the air. Exhale and claw the air downward with your hands, extend your tongue, open your eyes wide, and create an audible sound in your throat. Let it stem straight from your Throat Chakra.

Repeat this three to four times. If you have a tendency to get a dry throat, decrease the volume and intensity of your “roar.”

💙Mudra-GRANTHITA MUDRA:Interlace your last three fingers (middle, ring and pinky) together inside of your hands. Interlock the index fingertips and thumbs to form two rings and hold this mudra in front of the base of your throat. Inhale and exhale through the nose for 4 rounds of breath.

💙Meditation-“In meditation as my mind quietens, my body quietens also. When this happens I feel the dance of infinite awareness connecting me to all that is or could be”

Visualizations you can use when sitting quietly outdoors under a blue sky, or near a blue body of water, or meditating include: visualizing a blue light coming down from the sky and encompassing you, feel it saturate your body. Breath in the blue air, hold it for a few seconds giving it time to gather toxins and then breath out watching as blockages and negativities are removed.

💙See Y’all- Our experiences and truths makes their appearance only when it they are being expressed.

Express yourself! Be known! Be courageous as our time on earth is passing quickly.

💚See Y’all- in the deepest level of the heart we finally realize that we are the source of the love we have sought so desperately. We understand that love always flows out of wholeness, not out of need. We recognize that love does not come through what we get, but through what we give, and that the light of our love is reflected and fulfilled in the outer world. We understand that love is not something that is given to us from the outside, but something that we are connected to deep inside us. The more we recognize this, the less we seek externally and the deeper we open ourselves inwardly and sink into this love. There we discover that the source of love is eternal; that it cannot be interrupted; that it always flows, through and beyond all form and circumstances. We recognize that we ourselves are the source of love, and at the same time are completely dependent on everything else, united in this love. In this paradox we begin to understand the true miracle of life.

🧡Light a vegetable candle infused with Bergamot

Invite the spirits to join us

🧡Plant energy – inhale the earthy scents of plants and trees, such as pine, cedar, patchouli, myrrh, and amber.

🧡Earth’s crystal energy: Arrange orange calcite, bumblebee jasper and carnelian crystals in an energetic pattern

Orange is a power color, carrying the fiery heat of red with a gentler, more creative spirit to it. It is also a strong healing color, due to its association with the warm and powerful energy of the sun. Orange gemstones stimulate creativity, increase enthusiasm, accentuate personal power and bring confidence.

Crystals formed deep within the heart of the Earth contain an incredible amount of wisdom from experiencing the many transformations over millions and millions of years. Let your crystals know you welcome their vibrations.

🧡for these dark days of winter request the gatekeepers of the north to help us receive wisdom, find comfort and renewal, and remember what truly anchors us.

Set intention for practice such as “ I am more connected with the flow of life”

🧡Yoga-For Creativity, Joy, and Flow:

Squat Pose -In Squat Pose, you bring your hips towards the earth and lift your heart towards the sky. Stay in this pose for five to ten breaths to build strength in your feet and flexibility in your ankles, knees, and hips.

Bound Angle or Butterfly Pose

In addition to providing a generous stretch for your inner groins and thighs, you can integrate an easy flow in this pose. Experiment with fluttering your knees up and down a few times. Then hold the position with your knees wide open and bow your heart and head forward towards your feet. Roll up through your spine to come back upright, then repeat this spinal roll a few times.

For more yoga I often tune into Adriene on YouTube:

Red Chakra–Earth Connection

We should be able to be our true selves.
This means we should be able
to be the river,
the forest.
We must do this to understand,
and to have hope for the future~Thich Nhat hanh

Sunday corresponds to our ROOT CHAKRA—Our Base, grounding energy field vibrating with the potential for CONNECTION to EARTH. Awareness and INTENTION are the connecting forces.

SOUNDS: Search for a ‘Meditation Music for Root Chakra’ if you like to connect your red energy field with the earth through meditating with the vibrations of the chakra. Red Jasper from Pinterest

Red Jasper is a very calming stone and stimulates the Root Chakra —-vibrating with potential grounding Earth energy. Focus your intention near the apex of your red jasper and be sure you have stated a purpose for the highest good, and are clear about your deepest desires to CONNECT with Earth’s abundant energies.

FRAGRANCE: White or Balsam Fir blended with cedarwood and or sandalwood.                                   One very good way to bring balance to a clogged or congested chakra is to work directly on the chakra by applying a suitable essential oil blend. Even if you are feeling grounded, it is good to energize the energy center.
Blend (I use a 5 or 10ml container that fits my diffuser or a roll-on container for carrying with me) 1 oz. Pure Carrier Oil–Jojoba is a good choice as it is nutritive for the skin or Fractionated Coconut Oil, 10-15 drops cedarwood, sandalwood, White or Balsam Fir Essential Oil. Label the Blend as “Root Blend”
The blend does not have to be highly aromatic to be effective. Remember to never apply essential oils to the skin without first diluting them.

In a quiet, peaceful setting, add 2-3 drops of your Root Blend to your fingertips and then lightly apply the oil in a clockwise direction to your feet and/or to your lower back, near your tailbone, but not directly on it.
Once you have applied the blend, focus upon positive thoughts and intentions aimed towards balancing the chakra and sensing your CONNECTION to the VIBES of the EARTH. Feel the FLOW!
Ideal times to use the blend are during times of meditation or while practicing yoga, listening to peaceful music or relaxing.

MEDITATION: Begin your meditation with ten minutes of deep fast breathing focusing only on your breath-the in then the out. Feel the breath come from the center of the EARTH. Let all thoughts go–only focusing on your swirling red BASE chakra CONNECTED with the Earth’s energy for as long as you desire.

YOGA: TREE POSE: In a standing position shift your weight slightly onto the left foot, keeping the inner foot firm to the floor, and bend your right knee. Reach down with your right hand and clasp your right ankle.
Draw your right foot up and place the sole against the inner left thigh; if possible, press the right heel into the inner left groin, toes pointing toward the floor. The center of your pelvis should be directly over the left foot.
Rest your hands on the top rim of your pelvis. Make sure the pelvis is in a neutral position, with the top rim parallel to the floor.
Lengthen your tailbone toward the floor. Firmly press the right foot sole against the inner thigh and resist with the outer left leg. Press your hands together . Gaze softly at a fixed point in front of you on the floor about 4 or 5 feet away
Stay for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

balance yoga pose

Step back on both feet with an exhalation and repeat for the same length of time with the legs reversed. It helps to imagine that your body is centered on an invisible plumb line dropping from the crown of your head, through the middle of your torso and pelvis, and straight into the ground beneath you. You want to remain centered around that plumb line even though you’re on only one leg. To do this, strengthen the trunk of the tree—your core—and firm your standing leg by hugging the muscles of your inner thigh in toward your midline. Your standing leg is like the roots of your tree, and your stable pelvis CONNECTS energy from your roots up into the spine and torso, creating a strong trunk. Your arms reach up and out like branches expanding into the sky.

Intuitive, Visionary, Wise Third-Eye Friday

Intuititive, Visionary, Wise Third Eye Friday

The sixth chakra, our third-eye, has the potential energy to open up our ability to trust our intuition, to allow ourselves to ‘see’ beyond the evident and trust our ‘visions’. The swirling indigo energy between our brow has the potential to allow life energy–prana-chi-Universal Source, God –to be the wind beneath our wings.

So much of our lives depend upon our Third Eye Chakra being clear and balanced
because we create our realities based on our thoughts,
and our thoughts are often visual in nature.
Everything we imagine,
all our hopes, dreams, goals,
visions and aspirations
are all part of our Third Eye Chakra.
If we are “seeing” beautiful versions of our lives,
then that is what we create.
If we are seeing fearful worrisome situations,
then that is what we tend to manifest…….

When we are mindful of the absolute correlation between what we have been thinking and feeling—and what is manifesting in our life experience—we will be more aware of the stimulation of our own thoughts.

All of us are connected to the limitless power and most of us aren’t using but a fraction of it!!

I AM is a positive vibration, not I wish I was…..
Repeat these affirmations once every morning and once every evening when you wish to access your Brow Chakra. Use ‘I am’ as your positive affirmations as that is a vibration:

I THINK THE VERY BEST OF MY SELF IN ALL SITUATIONS, AT ALL TIMES.

I open myself to know my inner guidance and deepest wisdom.

I align my consciousness with the source of all life.

I AM unlimited in my capacity for joy, healing and happiness.

I release and forgive the past.

I open myself to new energy, new people, places and experiences.

I live in the light of my truth and I accept what I know.

I know I AM full of the Universal Source of grace, light and love.

I AM the source of truth and love in my life
As I tap into my inner wisdom, I know that all is well in my world.

SOUNDS: Pineal Gland Activation-Third eye opening by Numeditation Music. Frequency 936 Hz: Binaural beats meditation music

CRYSTALS: Kyanite

Indigo kyanite ring

AROMAS: Mugwort–aka Artemesia Vulgaria’s essence has the potential–if given your positive intentions, to stimulate the third eye chakra while opening the soul to a wider consciousness. Mugwort essence may drive stagnant energy out of the psychic body.

MEDITATION: Put your hands before the lower part of your breast. The middle fingers are straight and touch at the tops, pointing forward. The other fingers are bended and touch at the upper two phalanges. The thumbs point towards you and touch at the tops.
Concentrate on the Third Eye chakra slightly above the point between the eyebrows.
Chant the sound OM or AUM. Be still, sit quietly and pay attention only to your breathing letting all thoughts of the mind drift away like clouds. As your awareness goes deeper inner treasures of the real you become available. A quiet mind is peaceful, joyful, compassionate and imaginative because these qualities already exist within us all. Meditation simply enables us to connect to them.

Continue your meditation by letting your eyes sink deep into your skull and letting your tongue relax in your throat. Release tension in your jaw by relaxing your chin, and let your shoulders drop as you take several deep, relaxing breaths. The more you can attune your attention to your breath, the easier it is to slip into a meditational state where the mind is still and you experience peace all around you. Allow the stillness to activate the qualities of wisdom, knowledge, intuition, discernment and imagination as you focus on the truth of your experiences and feel more deeply in touch with your own true nature. As you become more peaceful, focused and relaxed, visualize a large, indigo blue, five-pointed star. Locate this in your Brow Chakra, between your eyebrows. Expand the form and intensify the color.

Move through each one of the five points and designate them as wisdom, discernment, imagination, intuition and knowledge. Feel the flow of energy move through each one of the points. It will expand the energy field and open you to developing these qualities within yourself. You can reflect on each one of these qualities by itself and visualize how it would manifest in your life. How might you use more discernment? What might you change if you allowed your intuition to guide you? What type of knowledge might help you through a difficult time? How would you imagine your life in five years’ time?

Allow the light from this energy field to expand and fill your entire head with a soft light that permeates your interior space. This is the light of consciousness which will bring you peace of mind and inner knowing. It is the light of truth, which expresses your deepest longing for oneness, love and beauty.

Let this light fill the recesses of your mind as you allow it to expand and fill you. See the beautiful, rich indigo blue light fill your eyes, ears, nose and mouth and cover your entire face and skull. See that light filling your head and cooling off any agitated emotions or sense of frustration you may be feeling. Allow this light to run through every nerve ending in your brain and cool you off and give you a deep sense of balance and well-being. Give yourself permission to sit quietly and explore this light of consciousness for several minutes. Are there images that come to your awareness, or words? If they repeat themselves they may hold an important message for you. If any images appear in your mind’s eye while you are meditating, allow them to be there; simply notice them and give them space. As you practice this meditation it will become easier to focus your attention and concentrate on this inner light.

When you are ready to complete this meditation, visualize a cross of light within a circle of light sealing and protecting the Brow Chakra. This will seal in the energy that you have opened up from practicing this meditation As you practice more often, you will find your mind is clear and receptive to ideas that can support you in your life development.
YOGA:
Downward Facing Dog,
Concentrate on your indigo colored energy field circulating between your brows and on your intention to SEE the big picture as you hold this position.

Come down on the floor and kneel on all fours with your back flat.
Walk your hands farther forward, your palms flat on the floor. Spread your fingers and establish firm contact with the floor.
Exhale and lift your tailbone straightening your legs and keeping your feet flat on the floor. Lengthen your tailbone away from the pelvis. Keep lifting your sit bones towards the ceiling.
Strengthen your knees, but make sure you do not lock them.
Your hands and arms are straight, keep firm contact with the floor, pressing your palms into the mat.
Downward facing dog is one of the poses in the Sun Salutation sequence. It is a wonderful pose to calm the mind and energize the whole body. You can stay in this pose for 1-3 minutes focusing on your insightful third eye.

image
Child’s Pose (Balasana)
While in Child’s Pose, feel your third eye touching the floor and breathe into it, feeling centered and clear. Be brave. Connect with and listen to your intuition while in the pose. Affirmation: I AM connected to my intuition.

image
SEE YA LATER: Imagine your happy sparkly visionary day SEEING and
Relishing the visionary indigo glow of your third-eye’s insight. The 3rd Eye indigo chakra vibrates at the ‘A’ note or ‘La’ on the ‘Sound of Music’ scale and to the sound of OM
hum the sound anytime you remember to do it – a great time is when you’re taking a walk, sprucing up about your environment, looking for something appear in the ‘frigerator etc.

Essentially, when you sing or chant each note, you want to hold that note until you physically feel a resonance in your throat; if you’re highly attuned to your body, you may feel the resonance in other parts of your body as well, but if you don’t, it’s still there, doing its job. Allow the note to resonate in your throat, holding it for the duration of your breath, and repeat for several minutes.

Visualize the sound frequencies vibrating in the chakra, clearing out any blockages much like ultrasound therapy breaks up crystals in the gallbladder or urinary tract. It’s really the same concept, except that the blockages you are dealing with in the chakras are not of a physical nature.

Thursday’s Swirling with the Blue Throat Chakra

Thursday’s Swirling with the Blue Throat Chakra

As Blues singer, Bob Marley says, we are all one love—the only walls of separation are created by the human ego.
When our mind is unfettered by ego’s incessant desires and judgments, it is then we can truly be free to express our real selves–

SO, let it GO….”sing a song; Sing out loud/Sing out strong/Sing of good things not bad/Sing of happy not sad….Sing, sing a song/Make it simple to last/Your whole life long/
Don’t worry that it’s not/Good enough for anyone/Else to hear/
Just sing, sing a song.” (Carpenters’ “Sing”)

Songs can be in any form: visual art, playwriting, sculpting, singing, dancing, performance arts, quilting, storytelling—any kind of communication that reveals your heart, the soul’s tune, the real You, the Universal Source from which all springs.

This is the throat chakra’s energetic function: COMMUNICATION

INTENTIONS:   Repeat often and with heart felt  positive intention

I AM discernment in all of my communications.
I know how to listen to my Heart.
I know how to listen to others.
What I say is worth listening to. I AM worth being heard.

MEDITATION: Feel your breath in your throat area. Breathe in these intentions as you say them out loud. Breathe out all arrogance, bitter anger, and resentment. Breathe in acceptance. Breathe out all rejection and closed-mindedness and all ideas that you are not heard, listened to or appreciated.
Breathe in Truth.
Breathe out Truth, Love, Forgiveness, Appreciation, Respect and Gratitude, and imagine the circulation of all of that out to all others.
As you are permitted to speak your Truth and express yourself freely as your own Divine Right, so are all others.

Express Love, Gratitude, Truth and Forgiveness

YOGA for balancing the throat chakra:

Fish Pose deals with opening the throat and spine in a way that can feel oddly vulnerable until you find your own expression. The same applies to communicating honestly with yourself and others. In the beginning it can be uncomfortable until you find your own genuine voice. Then, it is liberating.

Start by laying flat on your back and relaxing as long as you need (corpse pose)
Staying flat on your back, bring your feet together. With your arms straight by your sides, lay your palms on the floor, then tuck your hands in underneath your buttocks. Arch your spine, tilt your head backwards so that your crown rests on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds. To come out of the Fish, slide your head back and then lower your chest. To finish, relax by lying in the Corpse.

Chains that bind our Heart Energy

Still thinking ‘bout ‘Chains upon this heart of mine…” that was a point of an earlier Heart Chakrainspiration:

LOVE’s mysteries Inspiration comes again from Maria Popova on ‘Brainpickings.org: “Why Love Hurts: The Sociology of How Our Institutions Rather Than Our Personal Psychological Failings Shape the Romantic Agony of Modern Life

“There is hardly any activity, any enterprise, which is started with such tremendous hopes and expectations, and yet, which fails so regularly, as love,” philosopher Erich Fromm wrote in his inquiry into what is keeping us from mastering the art of loving. ……..

Moroccan sociologist Eva Illouz examined how the social organization of modern life has profoundly altered the hues and texture of our experience of romantic agony by transforming three elemental aspects of the self: “the will (how we want something), recognition (what matters for our sense of worth), and desire (what we long for and how we long for it).”

Although unrequited love and the anguish of longing have a perennial place in our experience of romantic pain, Illouz is concerned with the pain that lives within actualized romantic relationships. She writes:

“When relationships do get formed, agonies do not fade away, as one may feel bored, anxious, or angry in them; have painful arguments and conflicts; or, finally, go through the confusion, self-doubts, and depression of break-ups or divorces…. Despite the widespread and almost collective character of these experiences, our culture insists they are the result of faulty or insufficiently mature psyches.

The rise of clinical psychology in the twentieth century only solidified and granted scientific legitimacy to this notion that our romantic misery is a function of our psychological failings — an idea that caught on in large part because implicit to it was the promise that those failings can be deconditioned. And yet, Illouz argues, such overemphasis on individual shortcomings gravely warps the broader reality — a reality in which the systems, institutions, and social contracts (read that as chains)that govern our existence seed the core ambivalence of love and life: what we really want.

She writes: “In the same way that at the end of the nineteenth century it was radical to claim that poverty was the result not of dubious morality or weak character, but of systematic economic exploitation, it is now urgent to claim not that the failures of our private lives are the result of weak psyches, but rather that the vagaries and miseries of our emotional life are shaped by institutional arrangements… What is wrong are not dysfunctional childhoods or insufficiently self-aware psyches, but the set of social and cultural tensions and contradictions that have come to structure modern selves and identities.

The reason why love is so central to our happiness and identity is not far from the reason why it is such a difficult aspect of our experience: both have to do with the ways in which self and identity are institutionalized in modernity… Love contains, mirrors, and amplifies the “entrapment” of the self in the institutions of modernity, institutions, to be sure, shaped by economic and gender relations. (note from me:———-What we choose to focus on becomes our reality—we can, through meditation, make the choice to let go of everything we are  so attached to that’s not serving us and manifest the reality that we want.  Life is an illusion created by our perception, and we can see changed the moment we chose to change it.)

[Love] is shaped and produced by concrete social relations [and] circulates in a marketplace of unequal competing actors… Some people command greater capacity to define the terms in which they are loved than others.

Illouz argues that sociology — a discipline, more than any other, “born out of a frantic and anxious questioning about the meaning and consequences of modernity” — is the most revelatory lens through which to examine how modern life, marked by the period beginning at the end of WWI, has restructured the romantic self. Nearly a century after Bertrand Russell’s inquiry into why religion arose in human life and what is supplanting it, she considers how the displacement of religion by secular culture has impacted our ideals and our interior experience of love:

Modernity sobered people up from the powerful but sweet delusions and illusions that had made the misery of their lives bearable. Devoid of these fantasies, we would lead our lives without commitment to higher principles and values, without the fervor and ecstasy of the sacred, without the heroism of saints, without the certainty and orderliness of divine commandments, but most of all without those fictions that console and beautify.

Such sobering up is nowhere more apparent than in the realm of love, which for several centuries in the history of Western Europe had been governed by the ideals of chivalry, gallantry, and romanticism. The male ideal of chivalry had one cardinal stipulation: to defend the weak with courage and loyalty. The weakness of women was thus contained in a cultural system in which it was acknowledged and glorified because it transfigured male power and female frailty into lovable qualities… Women’s social inferiority could thus be traded for men’s absolute devotion in love, which in turn served as the very site of display and exercise of their masculinity, prowess, and honor. More: women’s dispossession of economic and political rights was accompanied (and presumably compensated) by the reassurance that in love they were not only protected by men but also superior to them. It is therefore unsurprising that love has been historically so powerfully seductive to women; it promised them the moral status and dignity they were otherwise denied in society and it glorified their social fate: taking care of and loving others, as mothers, wives, and lovers. Thus, historically, love was highly seductive precisely because it concealed as it beautified the deep inequalities at the heart of gender relationships.

To perform gender identity and gender struggles is to perform the institutional and cultural core dilemmas and ambivalence of modernity, dilemmas that are organized around the key cultural and institutional motives of authenticity, autonomy, equality, freedom, commitment, and self-realization. To study love is not peripheral but central to the study of the core and foundation of modernity.

As sexuality became unmoored from morality, love became a currency for social mobility. Illouz places this shift alongside the Scientific Revolution, the invention of the printing press, and the rise of capitalism in its effects on our lives and our basic experience of identity. She writes:

While love has played a considerable role in the formation of what historians call “affective individualism,” the story of love in modernity tends to present it as a heroic one, from bondage to freedom. When love triumphs, so this story goes, marriages of convenience and interest disappear, and individualism, autonomy, and freedom are triumphant. Nevertheless, while I agree that romantic love challenged both patriarchy and the family institution, the “pure relationship” also rendered the private sphere more volatile and the romantic consciousness unhappy. What makes love such a chronic source of discomfort, disorientation, and even despair … can be adequately explained only by sociology and by understanding the cultural and institutional core of modernity.

By juxtaposing the ideal of romantic love with the institution of marriage, modern polities embed social contradictions in our aspirations, contradictions which in turn take a psychological life. The institutional organization of marriage (predicated on monogamy, cohabitation, and the pooling of economic resources together in order to increase wealth) precludes the possibility of maintaining romantic love as an intense and all-consuming passion. Such a contradiction forces agents to perform a significant amount of cultural work in order to manage and reconcile the two competing cultural frames. This juxtaposition of two cultural frames in turn illustrates how the anger, frustration, and disappointment that often inhere in love and marriage have their basis in social and cultural arrangements.”  (from http://www.Brainpickings.org

Attainment of love and compassion remains our goal and thus to become fully what one potentially is:.  It is those chains of society, the secret chains that bind us,   Fromm observes that the chains are culture’s property-driven materialism and our individual intrinsic tendencies toward narcissism. SEE YA LATER :
“Taught from their infancy that beauty is woman’s sceptre, the mind shapes itself to the body, and roaming round its gilt cage, only seeks to adorn its prison. -Mary Wollstonecraft, reformer and writer (27 Apr 1759-1797)

Be mindful every chance you get to cast aside the chains of  societal slavery to materialism, to the desire of others, judgements, and desires to control. Dance and be aware moment by moment.  LOVE yourself as that is the greatest healer.
