The frequency and quality of the energy flowing from each of our chakras is different. Each chakra has  its own type of spiritual energy, its own tuning. Spiritual energy said to be of immeasurable power, called by the Indians “Prana” and by the Chinese “Chi”, can flow through the chakras, but only if they are opened or activated. Technically speaking the chakras are the fields through which the energies flow, not the spiritual energies themselves. They are like doors. Certain tools and techniques unlock them.

Inner silence is the key to tuning the energies and integrating the conscious states. It is the sacred dimension or pure Awareness which unifies the otherwise unconnected states of consciousness. It is also the black hole source of the chakras. Thus all progress in spiritual disciplines depends upon reaching and retaining this inner silence.
Sunday is the day of the week that resonants strongly with Muladhara, the energy which is the origin of our sensing capacity or Root Chakra. A spinning red energy gateway grounding us.

AROMA: Root Chakra corresponds to our sense of smell so energize with it with smells of the earth: Balsam fir, Angelica or Cedar to name a few.

CRYSTALS: Red Jasper or Carnelian is an excellent stone to wear or meditate with for this chakra. When used in meditation, Carnelian assists in the understanding of how to bring a concept into being, and how to manifest it into action

MEDITATION: Visualize a red jewel in the center of the earth rise up and the swirling red ball of energy it becomes in contact with the base of your spine.

YOGA:
Begin conscious grounding to Mother Earth’s energies with tree pose:

You can use your ‘seeing red’ visualization as you firmly plant your entire left foot onto your mat and bring your right foot up into tree pose. Keep your hip points squarely ahead and your toes tucked in as you place your foot anywhere on your leg besides your knee. Be creative and make your tree pose your own. Place your right leg into half lotus or engage your core and reach your arms overhead, keeping the base of your neck soft and your elbows straight as you rotate the pinky side of your hands in to engage your triceps. Most importantly, feel supported and connected to the earth as you hold your tree pose for 5 to 8 breaths before switching sides——

This chakra is where security, confidence and self-esteem originate.
Root Lock or Yoni Bandha :

The Yoni canal connects to the clitoris and the entire womb. Women draw up at the base of the pelvic floor around the vagina and extending up to the mouth of the cervix. Draw in and up on the inhalation. Let go on the exhalation. Draw in strongly but not so much that you feel tension. It’s much more than a Kegel, which some feel is devoid of poetry and Eros. “It’s like this light that rises and illuminates the whole spine”.
Try squatting with your heels in and toes out, lean your torso in between your thighs with your hands together. As you inhale, engage Mula Bandha and feel the current rise from the earth and enter the pelvic floor. When you can’t inhale any longer, relax the squeeze on your exhale, without collapsing it entirely. You’re pulling energy up to tap into a subtle pulse, like the ocean tide.

Red Jasper from Pinterest

Red Jasper is a very calming stone and stimulates the Root Chakra —-vibrating with potential grounding Earth energy. Focus your intention near the apex of your red jasper and be sure you have stated a purpose for the highest good, and are clear about your deepest desires to CONNECT with Earth’s abundant energies.

FRAGRANCE: White or Balsam Fir blended with cedarwood and or sandalwood.                                   One very good way to bring balance to a clogged or congested chakra is to work directly on the chakra by applying a suitable essential oil blend. Even if you are feeling grounded, it is good to energize the energy center.
Blend (I use a 5 or 10ml container that fits my diffuser or a roll-on container for carrying with me) 1 oz. Pure Carrier Oil–Jojoba is a good choice as it is nutritive for the skin or Fractionated Coconut Oil, 10-15 drops cedarwood, sandalwood, White or Balsam Fir Essential Oil. Label the Blend as “Root Blend”
The blend does not have to be highly aromatic to be effective. Remember to never apply essential oils to the skin without first diluting them.

In a quiet, peaceful setting, add 2-3 drops of your Root Blend to your fingertips and then lightly apply the oil in a clockwise direction to your feet and/or to your lower back, near your tailbone, but not directly on it.
Once you have applied the blend, focus upon positive thoughts and intentions aimed towards balancing the chakra and sensing your CONNECTION to the VIBES of the EARTH. Feel the FLOW!
Ideal times to use the blend are during times of meditation or while practicing yoga, listening to peaceful music or relaxing.

MEDITATION: Begin your meditation with ten minutes of deep fast breathing focusing only on your breath-the in then the out. Feel the breath come from the center of the EARTH. Let all thoughts go–only focusing on your swirling red BASE chakra CONNECTED with the Earth’s energy for as long as you desire.

YOGA: TREE POSE: In a standing position shift your weight slightly onto the left foot, keeping the inner foot firm to the floor, and bend your right knee. Reach down with your right hand and clasp your right ankle.
Draw your right foot up and place the sole against the inner left thigh; if possible, press the right heel into the inner left groin, toes pointing toward the floor. The center of your pelvis should be directly over the left foot.
Rest your hands on the top rim of your pelvis. Make sure the pelvis is in a neutral position, with the top rim parallel to the floor.
Lengthen your tailbone toward the floor. Firmly press the right foot sole against the inner thigh and resist with the outer left leg. Press your hands together . Gaze softly at a fixed point in front of you on the floor about 4 or 5 feet away
Stay for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Step back on both feet with an exhalation and repeat for the same length of time with the legs reversed. It helps to imagine that your body is centered on an invisible plumb line dropping from the crown of your head, through the middle of your torso and pelvis, and straight into the ground beneath you. You want to remain centered around that plumb line even though you’re on only one leg. To do this, strengthen the trunk of the tree—your core—and firm your standing leg by hugging the muscles of your inner thigh in toward your midline. Your standing leg is like the roots of your tree, and your stable pelvis CONNECTS energy from your roots up into the spine and torso, creating a strong trunk. Your arms reach up and out like branches expanding into the sky.

The sixth chakra, our third-eye, has the potential energy to open up our ability to trust our intuition, to allow ourselves to ‘see’ beyond the evident and trust our ‘visions’. The swirling indigo energy between our brow has the potential to allow life energy–prana-chi-Universal Source, God –to be the wind beneath our wings.

So much of our lives depend upon our Third Eye Chakra being clear and balanced
because we create our realities based on our thoughts,
and our thoughts are often visual in nature.
Everything we imagine,
all our hopes, dreams, goals,
visions and aspirations
are all part of our Third Eye Chakra.
If we are “seeing” beautiful versions of our lives,
then that is what we create.
If we are seeing fearful worrisome situations,
then that is what we tend to manifest…….

When we are mindful of the absolute correlation between what we have been thinking and feeling—and what is manifesting in our life experience—we will be more aware of the stimulation of our own thoughts.

All of us are connected to the limitless power and most of us aren’t using but a fraction of it!!

AROMAS: Mugwort–aka Artemesia Vulgaria’s essence has the potential–if given your positive intentions, to stimulate the third eye chakra while opening the soul to a wider consciousness. Mugwort essence may drive stagnant energy out of the psychic body.

MEDITATION: Put your hands before the lower part of your breast. The middle fingers are straight and touch at the tops, pointing forward. The other fingers are bended and touch at the upper two phalanges. The thumbs point towards you and touch at the tops.
Concentrate on the Third Eye chakra slightly above the point between the eyebrows.
Chant the sound OM or AUM. Be still, sit quietly and pay attention only to your breathing letting all thoughts of the mind drift away like clouds. As your awareness goes deeper inner treasures of the real you become available. A quiet mind is peaceful, joyful, compassionate and imaginative because these qualities already exist within us all. Meditation simply enables us to connect to them.


Continue your meditation by letting your eyes sink deep into your skull and letting your tongue relax in your throat. Release tension in your jaw by relaxing your chin, and let your shoulders drop as you take several deep, relaxing breaths. The more you can attune your attention to your breath, the easier it is to slip into a meditational state where the mind is still and you experience peace all around you. Allow the stillness to activate the qualities of wisdom, knowledge, intuition, discernment and imagination as you focus on the truth of your experiences and feel more deeply in touch with your own true nature. As you become more peaceful, focused and relaxed, visualize a large, indigo blue, five-pointed star. Locate this in your Brow Chakra, between your eyebrows. Expand the form and intensify the color.

Move through each one of the five points and designate them as wisdom, discernment, imagination, intuition and knowledge. Feel the flow of energy move through each one of the points. It will expand the energy field and open you to developing these qualities within yourself. You can reflect on each one of these qualities by itself and visualize how it would manifest in your life. How might you use more discernment? What might you change if you allowed your intuition to guide you? What type of knowledge might help you through a difficult time? How would you imagine your life in five years’ time?

Allow the light from this energy field to expand and fill your entire head with a soft light that permeates your interior space. This is the light of consciousness which will bring you peace of mind and inner knowing. It is the light of truth, which expresses your deepest longing for oneness, love and beauty.

Let this light fill the recesses of your mind as you allow it to expand and fill you. See the beautiful, rich indigo blue light fill your eyes, ears, nose and mouth and cover your entire face and skull. See that light filling your head and cooling off any agitated emotions or sense of frustration you may be feeling. Allow this light to run through every nerve ending in your brain and cool you off and give you a deep sense of balance and well-being. Give yourself permission to sit quietly and explore this light of consciousness for several minutes. Are there images that come to your awareness, or words? If they repeat themselves they may hold an important message for you. If any images appear in your mind’s eye while you are meditating, allow them to be there; simply notice them and give them space. As you practice this meditation it will become easier to focus your attention and concentrate on this inner light.

When you are ready to complete this meditation, visualize a cross of light within a circle of light sealing and protecting the Brow Chakra. This will seal in the energy that you have opened up from practicing this meditation As you practice more often, you will find your mind is clear and receptive to ideas that can support you in your life development.
YOGA:
Downward Facing Dog,
Concentrate on your indigo colored energy field circulating between your brows and on your intention to SEE the big picture as you hold this position.

Come down on the floor and kneel on all fours with your back flat.
Walk your hands farther forward, your palms flat on the floor. Spread your fingers and establish firm contact with the floor.
Exhale and lift your tailbone straightening your legs and keeping your feet flat on the floor. Lengthen your tailbone away from the pelvis. Keep lifting your sit bones towards the ceiling.
Strengthen your knees, but make sure you do not lock them.
Your hands and arms are straight, keep firm contact with the floor, pressing your palms into the mat.
Downward facing dog is one of the poses in the Sun Salutation sequence. It is a wonderful pose to calm the mind and energize the whole body. You can stay in this pose for 1-3 minutes focusing on your insightful third eye.

While in Child’s Pose, feel your third eye touching the floor and breathe into it, feeling centered and clear. Be brave. Connect with and listen to your intuition while in the pose. Affirmation: I AM connected to my intuition.

hum the sound anytime you remember to do it – a great time is when you’re taking a walk, sprucing up about your environment, looking for something appear in the ‘frigerator etc.

Essentially, when you sing or chant each note, you want to hold that note until you physically feel a resonance in your throat; if you’re highly attuned to your body, you may feel the resonance in other parts of your body as well, but if you don’t, it’s still there, doing its job. Allow the note to resonate in your throat, holding it for the duration of your breath, and repeat for several minutes.

Visualize the sound frequencies vibrating in the chakra, clearing out any blockages much like ultrasound therapy breaks up crystals in the gallbladder or urinary tract. It’s really the same concept, except that the blockages you are dealing with in the chakras are not of a physical nature.

YOGA for balancing the throat chakra:

Fish Pose deals with opening the throat and spine in a way that can feel oddly vulnerable until you find your own expression. The same applies to communicating honestly with yourself and others. In the beginning it can be uncomfortable until you find your own genuine voice. Then, it is liberating.

Start by laying flat on your back and relaxing as long as you need (corpse pose)
Staying flat on your back, bring your feet together. With your arms straight by your sides, lay your palms on the floor, then tuck your hands in underneath your buttocks. Arch your spine, tilt your head backwards so that your crown rests on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds. To come out of the Fish, slide your head back and then lower your chest. To finish, relax by lying in the Corpse.

SEE YALL LATER:   One way to access the potential that lies within this chakra is through creative movement. Everyone, including you, is inherently, wildly creative. So  put on some Latin Music which resonates with the Sacral Chakra and start moving your body. Just move—be silly, be soulful, let it rip. Creative movement is native to you, you just have to remind yourself by doing it. And when you do, you’ll also unlock creative thinking. Creative thinking is what empowers you to take positive actions that can change your life and the lives of others. So what are you waiting for?

Saturday correlates with the Violet colored energy center known as the crown chakra —it relates to consciousness as pure awareness. AROMAS:  Frankincense and sandalwood are probably the two essential oils most frequently identified with the crown chakra. You will need a container with a wide base and a small opening , as it will discourage evaporation; reeds (health, online or craft stores  carry reeds); Safflower or Mineral oil (Mineral oil less viscous than vegetable oil and is better at carrying the scent up the reeds); Plain  unflavored, nondiluted vodka( helps thin out the oil so that it will move more easily up the reeds); Essential oil(s).
Pour one-quarter cup mineral oil and two tablespoons vodka into a measuring cup and stir well to combine the liquids.  Add in one and one-half tablespoons of essential oil (the ratio should be about one part essential oil to four parts mineral oil and vodka).
Stir well and pour the oil mixture into your container. Insert as many reeds as will fit into the opening.
Flip the reeds every few days to optimize the scent diffusion.  Each time you you are mindful of the scent repeat an affirmation: “I AM….”

MEDITATION:  Sitting in half lotus or Full Lotus position chant **Nam-myoho-renge-kyo**
The purpose of chanting this phrase is to attain perfect and complete awakening (enlightenment).

Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō, represents devotion or conviction in the Mystic Law of Life, God, or Universal Source.    Some followers of Buddhism also consider Myōhō Renge Kyō to be the name of the ultimate law permeating the universe.
Broken down, Myōhō Renge Kyō consists of Myōhō (妙法), “sublime,” “unfathomable” or “mystic” law

YOGA
As we move up the ladder, the higher chakras are more affected by mediation and inner work rather than physical work, but here are two basic asanas, or poses:

Tree Pose: Start with Mountain pose, keep the feet hip width apart. Extend your spine tall and fix your gaze forward at a focal point. Breathe in and lift the right leg and place the sole of your right foot on the left leg, inner thigh. The heel of the right leg should touch the perineum otherwise, can rest on the thigh, or even on the calf initially. Lifting the torso upwards, take a deep breath & raise the arms up, joining the hands in Namaste mudra. If you can, take your gaze upwards towards the ceiling. Stay here for 5 to 7 breaths and repeat on the other side. Why to: A restorative and a balancing pose, the position of the arms and gaze taps into the energies of the crown chakra. The position of the body, works from root to the tip of the head, by aligning the chakras in a string. Also, rejuvenating the mind, it strengths the whole body.

Corpse Pose How to: Lying on your back, lift your pelvis and slide your tailbone away to comfortably spread your lower back. Keep just a light, natural arch to your lower back. Rest your pelvis on the ground. Place both the feet and the arms 3 to 4 feet apart with palms facing the ceiling. For extended support one can place a yoga blanket, cushion or pillow underneath the calves to relax the lower back. Now, close your eyes and take a slow deep breath. As you exhale, let your body relax and sink into the floor. Maintain stillness as you relax and quiet the mind. Completely loosen the whole body, like your body is sinking in the floor. Stay here for as long as you like. Why to: This pose gets its name from the posture of a dead body. It requires the stillness of a corpse, which makes it a challenging one. It helps in the repair of tissues and cells and in releasing stress. Savasana helps to calm and balance the crown chakra.

The sixth chakra, our third-eye, has the potential energy to open up our ability to trust our intuition, to allow ourselves to ‘see’ beyond the evident and trust our ‘visions’. The swirling indigo energy between our brow has the potential to allow life energy–prana-chi-Universal Source, God –to be the wind beneath our wings.

So much of our lives depend upon our Third Eye Chakra being clear and balanced
because we create our realities based on our thoughts,
and our thoughts are often visual in nature.
Everything we imagine,
all our hopes, dreams, goals,
visions and aspirations
are all part of our Third Eye Chakra.
If we are “seeing” beautiful versions of our lives,
then that is what we create.
If we are seeing fearful worrisome situations,
then that is what we tend to manifest…….

When we are mindful of the absolute correlation between what we have been thinking and feeling—and what is manifesting in our life experience—we will be more aware of the stimulation of our own thoughts.

All of us are connected to the limitless power and most of us aren’t using but a fraction of it!!

AROMAS: Mugwort–aka Artemesia Vulgaria’s essence has the potential–if given your positive intentions, to stimulate the third eye chakra while opening the soul to a wider consciousness. Mugwort essence may drive stagnant energy out of the psychic body.

MEDITATION

Begin meditating by sitting in a place where you feel comfortable and safe to explore your inner reality. You can light a candle or burn incense if you choose. Begin to relax by letting your eyes sink deep into your skull and let your tongue relax in your throat. Release tension in your jaw by relaxing your chin, and let your shoulders drop as you take several deep, relaxing breaths. The more you can attune your attention to your breath, the easier it is to slip into a meditational state where the mind is still and you experience peace all around you. When you feel receptive, begin the meditation for the Brow Chakra. It is designed to activate the qualities of wisdom, knowledge, intuition, discernment and imagination. It will help you to focus on the truth of your experiences and put you more deeply in touch your own true nature. As you relax, visualize a large, indigo blue, five-pointed star. Locate this in your Brow Chakra, between your eyebrows. Expand the form and intensify the colour.

Go through each one of the five points and designate them as wisdom, discernment, imagination, intuition and knowledge. Feel the flow of energy move through each one of the points. It will expand the chakra and open you mind to developing these qualities within yourself. You can reflect on each one of these qualities by itself and visualize how it would manifest in your life. For instance, how would wisdom help you in a particular situation? How would you use discernment if you could develop it? What would you know if you allowed your intuition to guide you? What type of knowledge would help you through a difficult time? How would you imagine your life in five years’ time?

Allow the light from this star to expand and fill your entire head with a soft light that permeates your interior space. This is the light of consciousness which will bring you peace of mind and inner knowing. It is the light of truth, which expresses your deepest longing for oneness, love and beauty.

Let this light fill the dark recesses of your mind as you allow it to expand and fill you. See the beautiful, rich blue light fill your eyes, ears, nose and mouth and cover your entire face and skull. See that light filling your head and cooling off any agitated emotions or sense of frustration you may be feeling. Allow this light to run through every nerve ending in your brain and cool you off and give you a deep sense of balance and well-being. Give yourself permission to sit quietly and explore this light of consciousness for several minutes. Are there images that come to your awareness, or words? If they repeat themselves they may hold an important message for you. If any images appear in your mind’s eye while you are meditating, allow them to be there; simply notice them and give them space. As you practice this meditation it will become easier to focus your attention and concentrate on this inner light.

When you are ready to complete this meditation, visualize a cross of light within a circle of light sealing and protecting the Brow Chakra. This will seal in the energy that you have opened up from practicing this meditation As you practice more often, you will find your mind is clear and receptive to ideas that can support you in your life development. You will feel restored and calm after doing this for a few minutes daily

YOGA: Child’s Pose (Balasana)

While in Child’s Pose, feel your third eye touching the floor and breathe into it, feeling centered and clear. Be brave. Connect with and listen to your intuition while in the pose. Affirmation: I AM connected to my intuition.
