Thursday’s Swirling with the Blue Throat Chakra

Thursday’s Swirling with the Blue Throat Chakra

As Blues singer, Bob Marley says, we are all one love—the only walls of separation are created by the human ego.
When our mind is unfettered by ego’s incessant desires and judgments, it is then we can truly be free to express our real selves–

SO, let it GO….”sing a song; Sing out loud/Sing out strong/Sing of good things not bad/Sing of happy not sad….Sing, sing a song/Make it simple to last/Your whole life long/
Don’t worry that it’s not/Good enough for anyone/Else to hear/
Just sing, sing a song.” (Carpenters’ “Sing”)

Songs can be in any form: visual art, playwriting, sculpting, singing, dancing, performance arts, quilting, storytelling—any kind of communication that reveals your heart, the soul’s tune, the real You, the Universal Source from which all springs.

This is the throat chakra’s energetic function: COMMUNICATION

“What the heart center feels

the throat center may reveal

SOUNDS: Put on some Throat Chakra Meditation Music. One that I found particularly inspiring is (iTunes)”Throat Chakra” by Compassion Sound Healers Quartz Singing Bowls,

AROMAS: Lavender or Frankincense

CRYSTALS: Blue stones like Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Lace Agate and Aquamarine if worn at the throat will be helpful to the health and balance (think no more pathetic wobbly croaking) of the throat chakra.

And SING right through the blue throat chakra in whatever way you feel like realizing the potential of your energy!!!!!!!

INTENTIONS:   Repeat often and with heart felt  positive intention

I AM discernment in all of my communications.
I know how to listen to my Heart.
I know how to listen to others.
What I say is worth listening to. I AM worth being heard.

MEDITATION: Feel your breath in your throat area. Breathe in these intentions as you say them out loud. Breathe out all arrogance, bitter anger, and resentment. Breathe in acceptance. Breathe out all rejection and closed-mindedness and all ideas that you are not heard, listened to or appreciated.
Breathe in Truth.
Breathe out Truth, Love, Forgiveness, Appreciation, Respect and Gratitude, and imagine the circulation of all of that out to all others.
As you are permitted to speak your Truth and express yourself freely as your own Divine Right, so are all others.

Express Love, Gratitude, Truth and Forgiveness

YOGA for balancing the throat chakra:

Fish Pose deals with opening the throat and spine in a way that can feel oddly vulnerable until you find your own expression. The same applies to communicating honestly with yourself and others. In the beginning it can be uncomfortable until you find your own genuine voice. Then, it is liberating.

Start by laying flat on your back and relaxing as long as you need (corpse pose)
Staying flat on your back, bring your feet together. With your arms straight by your sides, lay your palms on the floor, then tuck your hands in underneath your buttocks. Arch your spine, tilt your head backwards so that your crown rests on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds. To come out of the Fish, slide your head back and then lower your chest. To finish, relax by lying in the Corpse.

See YALL Later: Throughout the day be mindful of blue colors to ponder on, look up at the wonder of the blue sky, crack the waiting walls of the ego and remind yourself that you are so very precious, energized and worth being heard.

Blue Throat Chakra Thursday

The fifth chakra, called visuddha, is located at the throat. “Visuddha” , in Sanskrit, means very pure or purification.
Visuddha chakra is associated with ether, the spirit. “You can conceptualize it as a spaciousness around your throat and neck through which profound spiritual truths can flow. The purification aspect implies that in order to fully tap into the power of the visuddha chakra you need to have done a certain amount of work in the other energy centers. In other words, have you addressed the issues associated with chakras 1–4 yet? This will increase your understanding and sensitivity, which will in turn gain you deeper access to the gifts of the more subtle upper chakras.
This energy center is associated with your voice. It relates to your ability to speak your truth, express ideas clearly, truthfully, and gracefully, and become harmoniously attuned to both inner and outer vibrations. ”                                                                                                When the swirling blue potential energy of the throat chakra is out of alignment, you may feel like you don’t know how to ask for what you need and feel unable to shape the world you want to create. Poor communication is the result.
The visuddha chakra bridges the heart and the mind. When that space is clear, it integrates the wisdom of both, allowing profound spiritual truths to flow freely. You will be able to effectively communicate your needs, desires, creative ideas, boundaries, empathy, and love.” (From    YOGA JOURNAL YOGA 101 CHAKRAS,  BY STEPHANIE SNYDER | JAN 19, 2015   “Introduction of Throat Chakra)

SOUNDS: Soft Throat Chakra sounds.  One I found was (Almost) Instant Throat Chakra Healing Meditation | 192Hz Frequency Vibrations and Music

AROMAS:    Breathe the fragrance of energizing Frankincense( also called olibanum, an aromatic resin  obtained from tree Boswellia sacra  – Wikipedia,)

MEDITATE  quietly and silently for awhile then Open your visuddha chakra by creating spaciousness around the throat and neck through which profound spiritual truths can flow.
One of the easiest ways to connect with your visuddha energy is to chant. Take a comfortable seat. Softly close your eyes and lips. Relax your face and jaw. Begin to make the sound “mmmmmmmm” at whatever resonant tone is natural for you. Feel the vibration all around the tongue, lips, cheeks, jaw, ears, and throat. Imagine this sound vibrating loose any tension in the throat neck and jaw region. Letting go of the times you have had to bite your tongue or have had a lump in your throat from the fear of speaking up. Feel the vibration purifying and freeing your visuddha energy.

Now set your intention for this practice. To grease the wheels, here are some themes that relate to the fifth chakra: Communicating clearly, honestly, and with compassion; releasing fear of speaking up for yourself or for others; being a good listener; learning not to overtalk or dominate conversations; refraining from gossip. Feel free to use any of these or choose your own. As long as your intention feels true for you it has value.

Neck Release
From a comfortable seated position, extend your spine long and root down into your foundation. Reach your right arm out to the right. Gently begin to release your head and let it hang to the right. Drag your right shoulder and shoulder blade down to create a stable foundation. Now extend your left arm out about 6 inches above the floor and reach out and down to create some traction and a big stretch on the left side of the neck. Spend 5–10 breaths here. Be patient. It takes time for the blood to move through and heal tight and stiff muscle tissue, so try to hold for as long as you can without pain. Make sure your breath is deep and slow and your eyes and jaw remain relaxed. Gently return to center, pause for a moment, and notice the difference, then switch sides.

Seated Cat-Cow
In cross-legged seated position, bring your hands to your knees for leverage. As you inhale, arch your spine forward and gaze up, creating a backbend shape in the spine in a seated variation of Cow Pose (Bitliasana). As you exhale, pull the navel back toward the spine, hollowing front body in a seated variation of Cat Pose (Marjaryasana). As you inhale, head and tail move back and as you exhale, head and tail curl forward and in. This is a complete undulation of the spine that creates a compression and release action in the throat. Go slowly and let each movement span an entire inhalation or exhalation. Find a rhythm that feels good—fluid but not fast. Continue for 5–10 rounds.

Knees-Chest-Chin
Ashtanga Namaskar
In this pose there are eight points of contact, which are meant to represent the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga as outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra. The eight points are feet, hands, knees, chest, and chin. From hands and knees, begin to dip the heart toward the floor. Keeping your buttocks up high, let your chest and chin touch down. You may need to scoot your knees back a bit depending on your flexibility. The front of the throat is extremely open in this pose. Go slowly and consciously. These days we spend so much time using devices that keep our chin stuck to our chest that this pose can be very intense. Spend 3 breaths here and then rest.

image

Fish Pose
Matsyendrasana
To come into Fish Pose, begin lying flat on your back. Walk your hands under your sitting bones with palms face down. Squeeze the arms as close together as you can. Draw shoulder blades toward each other underneath you and pause. Notice how wide open the chest is already here. Moving from the back of the heart, begin to press into your elbows and lift the chest. Rest the top of your head lightly on the floor. Avoid both hanging and putting too much weight on the head. Press down through legs, hands, and elbows to keep your neck supported. Let your heart and throat open. Hold this pose for 5 breaths and then rest.

Throat Chakra Chant + Meditation
Now that you have spent some time connecting with the fifth chakra through asana breath, and intention, please have a comfortable cross-legged seat. Keeping your eyes closed, begin to chant the bija mantra for visuddha chakra which is HAM. You may either chant it out loud or silently to yourself. Think of this mantra as a code. As you chant, the code begins to unpack itself and reveal to you the sacred intelligence of the fifth chakra energy center. As you chant this word HAM, try to sense the vibration of the sound all around the throat and neck. Feel free to experiment with pace and volume and chant in a way that resonates with you. Spend at least 2 minutes with your chant, more if you like.

Corpse Pose
Savasana
When you finish chanting, lie back in Savasana and consciously soften around the throat and neck. Release all thoughts and relax into the earth as you drift into a quiet and restful repose.   Above is from  YogaJournal.com,”Throat Chakra Tune-Up Practice byStephanie Snyder “who also has a soundtrack available.

SEE YALL LATER _Hopefully you will have day mindful of the energy opening your throat to speak your truth with loving compassion.

Throat Chakra Clearing

Thursday correlates with our Throat Chakra.  It is cleaning for Chakras this week in celebration of SPRING so we could clear our THROATS.   When our Throat Chakra, associated with Self Expression and Communication is cleared and  balanced, we are able to listen and communicate well. When we are having trouble expressing ourselves, or having trouble with communication (being unable to say what we want to say to others and/or not truly listening to what we are being told) the throat chakra is clogged and imbalanced.

An imbalance will first resonate as a tingle, ache or sensitivity in the throat region. (Stemming from the base of the neck to the ears)

Clearing the throat chakra involves learning to let go and trusting your inner voice. Not a small task for a lot of us!  As with the other Chakras we have to start by sweeping out the muddy negative emotions that have been tracked in by who knows what all?!   Those dusty particles of guilt, hurt and resentment foul up the smooth blue whirling vortex of energy that vibrates our throat, neck, thyroid gland, jaw, mouth and tongue that connect to our heart, thymus gland, vocal chords and mind.

Dusting away, then shaking out negative emotions,  can work wonders to restore energy balance in the throat chakra. Sometimes a good cry can also help alleviate a blockage of the fifth chakra.

Practicing mindful speech, action, and deeds can help you maintain throat chakra balance. For example, talk openly and honestly with others on a regular basis.

Meditating on and incorporating the throat chakra’s color, blue, into your life can also calm emotional upheaval. For instance, introduce blue-colored flowers or decor to your home environment.

Blue Poppy

“…I feel very strongly there is an intelligence at work in every flower, in every blade of grass, in every cell of my body.” ~ Eckart Tolle       With their simple presence, flowers have a mystical way of raising our spirits as well as the vibrational energy of any room.

Blue flowers have not only the  color but also the  essence that vibrationally corresponds with our throat chakra. Meditating upon a particular flower, therefore, can help us open and align our Throat Chakra. Place the flowers in a pot or vase where you can see them often. You can also use a photo or painting of that flower. As you gaze upon the flower, ponder the qualities you’d like to develop.

The throat chakra carries the energies of verbal expression and speaking our highest truth. Vibrating in a light blue, it is  represented by hyacinths, Texas Bluebonnets (Lupines), Delphiniums (Larkspur) and morning glories. If you are feeling a block in communication with a partner or feel that you are not being heard, bring one of these beautiful blue flowers into your home and meditate on the value of expressing your highest truth.    ~Traci Pedersen

CRYSTALS:    Lapis Lazuli can remind us of the power of the spoken word and is reportedly one of the best stones to use when opening and balancing the Throat Chakra as it helps to foster full verbal expression, and clears problems caused by “swallowing your tongue” or ‘frogs’. Lapis encourages clear, truthful expression when sharing information with others, including an easier voicing/communication of anger. Be sure to give the crystals your intention to clear your throat chakra

AFFIRMATION: ” I am clearing my throat chakra to communicate clearly and compassionately.”

AROMAS:  Thyme, Roman Chamomile and or Clary Sage. I mixed these three in blue votive candles for Thursdays.

MEDITATION:   To begin meditation Open the Throat Chakra by  crossing your fingers on the inside of your hands, without the thumbs. Let the thumbs touch at the tops, and pull them slightly up.   Concentrate on the Throat chakra at the base of the throat.

Chant the sound HAM.

YOGA:   Fish Pose (Matsyasana)             The lesson of the fifth chakra involves developing the ability to clearly communicate with yourself and others. Often we  don’t say what we mean or mean what we say because we’re distracted by unnecessary layers that don’t allow us to embrace our authentic Selves–think of it as your ego tromping mud around your clubhouse.

Fish Pose deals with opening the throat and spine in a way that can feel oddly vulnerable until you find your own expression. The same applies to communicating honestly with yourself and others. In the beginning it can be uncomfortable until you find your own genuine voice. Then, it is liberating.

Affirmation:  I communicate clearly and compassionately.

————–

The Throat Chakra connects the heart center–ether, to your communications.  Spend some time mindfully

Singing of happy, not sad.  Don’t worry that it’s not good enough…..

Humming
Chanting —-
Mantra/chanting meditation: Focus on your breathing.  On the inhale, say SO. Hold it for a few seconds, then breathe back out. HAM. Concentrate on the variations in the vibrations and frequencies while you hum this chant in and out. Set your focus on how the vibrations feel as they resonate in your throat. Allow these chants and vibrations to open the throat so that energy may pass back and forth once more
Spending time outside looking at the sky, watching the clouds
Deep breathing exercises
Wearing blue gemstones, like sapphires, aquamarines, etc.

Speaking truthfully
Listening with an open mind and heart to others
Writing down your truth in a journal

In just about every case, when you feel that people don’t listen to you, it’s not really the truth – it’s just your belief. As soon as you start speaking, people start listening. And even if they don’t agree with you, just remember – they had to listen to you in the first place to be able to disagree with you. The more you speak up and share, the more opportunities you give others to hear you. The more you listen to others with an open mind and heart, the more you teach them about how to do the same. As you appreciate truth and honesty from others, so do they appreciate the same from you. So don’t be shy now! Open up and let others hear the one unique voice that is yours
“We turn outward, attracted by the beauty we see in created things without realizing that they are only a reflection of the real beauty. And the real beauty is within us.” —

FRAGRANCE: Throat Chakra Essential Oil Blend:  lavender, frankincense, rose geranium, and  tea tree or anyone of them.

CRYSTALS: —-This chakra primarily resonates to the color blue. There are many beautiful stones in a range of blue shades that can be easily obtained, and many are stunning stones to look at. In particular you may wish to acquire some of the more powerful blue stones, including Lapis Lazuli, Aquamarine and Blue Sodalite

Meditation:

Mudras are special hand positions, to open chakras. The mudras have the power to send more energy to particular chakras.
To enhance the effect, sounds are chanted. These sounds are from Sanskrit letters. When chanted, they cause a resonation in your body that you can feel at the chakra they are meant for.

For pronunciation, keep in mind that:
the “A” is pronounced as in “ah,”
the “M” is pronounced as “mng” (“ng” like in “king”).

Do a meditation for 7 – 10 breaths. Chant the sound several times each breath (for example three times)..(Read more at: http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/open.php)

To Open the Throat Chakra:  Cross your fingers on the inside of your hands, without the thumbs. Let the thumbs touch at the tops, and pull them slightly up.
Concentrate on the Throat chakra at the base of the throat.
Chant the sound HAM.

Jack Gilbert –

“We must risk delight,” Jack Gilbert wrote. “We must have the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless furnace of this world……. We must live our  most creative lives as a means of fighting back against the ruthless furnace of this world.”

Be BRAVE, express what is in your hearts so you will  know the world as richly as it longs to be known.

We all know that when courage dies, creativity dies with it. We all know that fear is a desolate boneyard where our dreams go to desiccate in the hot sun. This is common knowledge; sometimes we just don’t know what to do about it.

The Throat Chakra is the center of our communication, self-expression, and creativity. Its highest function is listening to our Highest Self and communicating our Truth to others, expressing our True Selves honestly and openly. This chakra urges us to find our True Self, communicate it through our creativity, and use the creative force of our higher emotions to move our consciousness into the higher dimensions. And just as we need to learn to listen to our Higher Self, we must also learn to listen to others. Through the Throat Chakra, we learn how to direct and express our creative force in all areas of our life, manifesting what we desire through our Word.

Even if you just express at least one piece of your heart today that will be FABULOUS!!!!!!

Namaste,

Priscilla
