Fifth Chakra – Sound, vibration, communication, self-expression, being heard: This is the chakra located in the throat and is thus related to communication and creativity. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing language. It is about vibration. Let those vibes vibrate with vigor and vitality.

MEDITATION:   Cross your fingers on the inside of your hands, without the thumbs. Let the thumbs touch at the tops, and pull them slightly up.

Concentrate on the Throat chakra at the base of the throat.
Chant the sound HAM. (Haaaaaaa ummmmmmmm)

YOGA: Fish Pose deals with opening the throat and spine in a way that can feel oddly vulnerable until you find your own expression. The same applies to communicating honestly with yourself and others. In the beginning it can be uncomfortable until you find your own genuine voice. Then, it is liberating.
Assume the Corpse Pose (lying flat on your back) and, when you are ready, begin to come into the fish. Stay flat on your back, and bring your feet together. With your arms straight by your sides, lay your palms on the floor, then tuck your hands in underneath your buttocks.
Having arched your spine, tilt your head so that your crown rests on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds. To come out of the Fish, slide your head back and then lower your chest. To finish, relax by lying in the Corpse.

Vibrant, Sassy, Friendly Vibrant Orange

Monday correlates with the SECOND chakra–the SACRAL, located just below your navel in the pelvic area. Your sexual energy and life force  energy is here. Emotional issues in the area to name a few are sexuality, creativity, shame and guilt. The SACRAL vibrates to the concert key of D (Ray)and is associated with the color ORANGE.  It is vibrates in the testes or ovaries and is associated with sexuality.

If we learn at a young age it is not ok to ask for what we want, the sacral chakra becomes blocked, we go into a state of resistance about asking for our desires and instead focus on excessive people pleasing. We become blocked about receiving, which reduces our ability to give to others. A sacral imbalance will often leaves us feeling ‘not good enough’.

A balanced sacral chakra is evidenced by expressing a strong desire for what one wants in life as well as easy and healthy creativity and generous giving while being able to receive freely. Vibrant Joy!

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. Unfortunately, people hurt each other. You deserve to be free from the weight of resentment and anger. Forgiving can be a gift of peace to yourself. Be mindful not to over think, relive, or obsess over outcomes out of your control. Wanting, wishing and hoping for something to be different will never make it so. Accept, even when you can’t understand.

Finally, never forget your dreams. It’s ok to put them on the back burner as life unfolds in unexpected ways. But while they are there, let them simmer. Stir them up every now and then, and when the time is right, bring them forth and pursue them with passion.

Be humble, be grateful and always be mindful of fostering the values that lead to your higher self, and the ultimate state of happiness – inner peace.

The sacral chakra is the center of creation, the true seat of Shakti (the feminine aspect of the Hindu God). All aspects of the Goddess reign here and thus this becomes the seat of a woman’s power. (The solar plexus area is the power center of the Godhead, where ideally men hold their seat of power.) (It is interesting to note that if we, as humans, feel threatened or disempowered, we tend to put down layers of fat for protection over our seats of power. Have you ever noticed that women tend to have excess adipose tissue below their wasteline – protecting the sacral chakra – whereas most men tend to create fat over their solar plexus chakra – in that their bellies hang over their belts. Could it be that we are protecting these sacred power centers physiologically against energetic attack? )

In this second chakra not only do we create life, but also all forms of creation such as art, music, poetry, etc. It is a very sacred and powerful place for women to manifest their dreams and desires, as well as stand in combat to protect those dreams and desires. In the varying aspects of the Goddess, we not only have the nurturing mother, the young sexual maiden, the wise old crone, but also the warrior, the artist, the intellectual, the sacred prostitute etc. We are all faces of the Goddess in the sacral chakra and play out all her different personalities.

In this area we also hold control issues. If we are weak or lacking energy in this chakra, we can give over our control to others and become disempowered, impotent and fearful. Physical complaints such as prostate problems, PMS, fibroids, menstrual problems and lack of sexual drive can occur when the second chakra is imbalanced. Lower backache, sacroiliac problems, sciatica, and bowel dysfunction can also be attributed to a challenged sacral chakra. We need the creative life energy pulsing through this area to maintain homeostasis in the lower organs and stabilize health

Affirmation: “I am radiant, beautiful and strong and enjoy a healthy and passionate life”

As I focus on this orange light that radiates from my sacral centre, I feel radiant, alive and strong.I am able to feel all the positive emotions, I embrace them as they allow me to stand in power, I am able to feel all the negative emotions, feelings of fear, anxiousness, doubt and I truly understand what causes them, I accept them as they bring about feelings of joy, dignity and peace as they teach me lessons of growth and truth. I am at peace and I lovingly release any negatives feelings that cause me any discomfort and pain.

Connect with Your Creative Energy:
As you use hip openers and forward folds to work with this chakra, cultivate a sense of fluidity and ease in your low belly, low back, hips, sacral plexus, and pelvis.

Creative movement is native to you, you just have to remind yourself by doing it. And when you do, you’ll also unlock creative thinking. Creative thinking is what empowers you to take positive actions that can change your life and the lives of others. So what are you waiting for?
After your private dance party take a few moments to feel the vibration of blood flowing and the pulse of your heart beating. Appreciate the inner flow in preparation for your a little yoga practice:
#1. Dancer’s Pose–This yoga pose stretches thighs, groin, and abdomen and improves balance.
Stand in Mountain Pose, inhale and firmly root your right foot into the ground.
Move your weight into the right foot.
Exhale and lift your left heel toward your buttock as you bend your knee.
Reach back with your left hand and grasp your left ankle or your foot.
Raise your right arm up towards the ceiling and hold it there.
Begin to lift your left leg upwards away from the ground and your body. Keep lifting.
As you lift your left leg, tilt your upper body forward.
Hold the posture and feel the energy flowing through your pelvic area.
This is an excellent yoga pose for balance. It requires a great deal of concentration.

2.Child’s Pose,–This is the most powerful pose (my personal favorite and a whole lot easier than #1) to become in touch with your own breathing and with the movement of the air in your abdomen. In this posture, you can let the life force of water  flow and awaken yourself to your inner life as you observe your breath.

For that desired  vibrant, sassy, friendly balance add more orange fruits and vegetables, honey and nuts to your diets. This vibrating orange energy vortex is connected to our sense of taste which explains why we deal (or don’t deal) with our emotions with food as they both correspond to the energy vibration of the Sacral Chakra.If you go to the market pick yourself up some sunflowers!!

Meditation:

For pronunciation, keep in mind that:

With your arms straight by your sides, lay your palms on the floor, then tuck your hands in underneath your buttocks. Starting Pose: Prepare yourself for this asana by relaxing in the Corpse Pose for as long as you need.

STEP 2 – HEAD BACK
Having arched your spine, tilt your head so that your crown rests on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds. To come out of the Fish, slide your head back and then lower your chest. To finish, relax by lying in the Corpse. Chest Lift: Press your elbows down on the floor, inhale, and arch your chest upward as far as you can.

Its highest function is listening to our Highest Self and communicating our Truth to others, expressing our True Selves honestly and openly. This chakra urges us to find our True Self, communicate it through our creativity, and use the creative force of our higher emotions to move our consciousness into the higher dimensions. And just as we need to learn to listen to our Higher Self, we must also learn to listen to others. Through the Throat Chakra, we learn how to direct and express our creative force in all areas of our life, manifesting what we desire through our Word.

When I think of Orange sacral chakra Monday and then opening, embracing, liberating and releasing inhibitions, I always think Jasmine. It makes the process of opening up joyful rather than fearful. It promotes love, sensuality and sexuality, creativity, and living in the moment. Jasmine harmonizes and promotes wholeness. Meditate:  Lie or recline in a comfortable position.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath or two or more….
Allow yourself to be aware of your body — do a scan of your body to find any areas of tension. Breathe into them and release them.
As you empty your mind of all other thoughts, feel the fluidity within your body. It reminds you that you are a sensory being – accustomed to feeling, creating and enjoying the juiciness of life.
You feel your body, while externally still, full of potential of the force of life that flows like water in and out of all that surrounds you.
This potential creates a nurturing sensation that cradles you. You are moved by its gentle, rocking flow.
As you are saturated by this feeling of flowing potential, imagine it expanding throughout your body. This is the force behind your creativity and passion. It gives you a warm and fluid sensuality that is attracting on many levels and it fills you with a vibrancy that resonates in all that you do.

Yoga:
Be seated. Close your eyes and turn your attention inward toward your heart. Be still and quiet and take this time to witness your innermost self. Drop down beneath the mind chatter into the cave of your heart and listen there for the inner voice. It takes practice to get quiet enough and willing enough to connect this deeply with your true self. So do not be discouraged if this seems challenging—it is! Through regular practice of listening in, you will slowly be able to tell the difference between the inner voice of your heart and the neurotic chatter of the mind. Over time you will be able to observe both. This inner listening cultivates a discrimination. Discrimination supports skillful choices, which lead you toward your heart’s calling, your purpose. The result is bringing compassion and love into all you do.

As a preparatory practice bring your hands to prayer pose at the heart and begin to lightly tap the sternum with the thumbs. Let it be a rhythmic and gentle tap. As you are tapping keep the spine long and the heart open. This is a great way to stimulate the heart energy. Spend at least 2 minutes tapping, more if you like. When you are done release your hands to your lap and take a moment to feel the resonant vibration at the heart.

From Downward-Facing Dog , step your right foot forward. Gently release your left knee to the floor and reach the arms up into a Low Lunge. Square your hips toward the front end of your mat. Bring your left hand to your left hip, reaching your right arm up. You may stay here or slide your left hand down the inner left leg as your curl your spine back, in, and up to open the heart into a deeper backbend. Next, actively press your left hand into your inner right leg and as the leg and hand resist each other you will feel stronger and avoid sinking into the low back. Isometrically, hug your left knee and right foot in toward each other, this will lift the pelvic floor and help you draw your low belly in and up. Finally press down through your right foot and let the heart fly up a little more. Spend 5 breaths here. change sides

THE MEDITATION

Quiet your mind by breathing deeply into your heart chakra. Concentrate on your breathing and let the cares and worries of the day flow out of your mind like water in a stream. Take any large worry or anxiety and toss it gently into the stream so that the Water of Life can carry it away. Take on the calmness of a quiet pool.

Continue to breathe into your heart chakra. Breathe deeply and exhale completely. Feel the life-giving air invigorating and rejuvenating your heart chakra. Feel the life and spirit in your heart chakra. Become one with the air you breathe and the act of breathing. Become one with your heart chakra.

When you are thoroughly one with your heart chakra, breathe into both your third and your fifth chakras–your solar plexus and your throat. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center. Know that each breath is invigorating and rejuvenating every part of your body between your solar plexus and your throat. Feel the life and spirit in your body between your solar plexus and your throat. Become one with your body between your solar plexus and your throat.

When you are thoroughly one with your body between your solar plexus and your throat, breathe into both your second and sixth chakras–your spleen and your brow. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center. Know that each breath is invigorating and rejuvenating every part of your body between your spleen and your brow. Feel the life and spirit in your body between your spleen and your brow. Become one with your body between your spleen and your brow.

When you are thoroughly one with your body between your spleen and your brow, breathe into both your first and seventh chakras–the base of your spine and the crown of your head. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center. Know that each breath is invigorating and rejuvenating every part of your body between the base of your spine and the crown of your head. Feel the life and spirit in your body between the base of your spine and the crown of your head. Become one with your body between the base of your spine and the crown of your head.

When you are thoroughly one with your body between the base of your spine and the crown of your head, breathe into the ground directly beneath you and the air directly above you. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center. Know that each breath is connecting your heart chakra with the ground directly beneath you and the air directly above you. Feel the life and spirit in everything between the ground directly beneath you and the air directly above you. Become one with everything between the ground directly beneath you and the air directly above you.

When you are thoroughly one with the ground directly beneath you and the air directly above you, breathe deeper into the ground and higher into the air. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center. Know that each breath is connecting your heart chakra with Mother Earth and Father Sky. Feel the life and spirit in Mother Earth and Father Sky. Become one with everything between Mother Earth and Father Sky.

When you are thoroughly one with Mother Earth and Father Sky, breathe into the center of the Earth and the center of the universe. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center. Know that each breath is connecting your heart chakra with the center of the Earth and the center of the Universe. Feel the life and spirit in everything from the center of the Earth to the center of the Universe. Become one with everything from the center of the Earth to the center of the Universe.

When you are thoroughly one with everything from the center of the Earth to the center of the Universe, breathe into the molecules that compose the center of the Earth and the distance that composes the edge of the Universe. Feel the expansion of the area into which you are breathing, but remain aware of your heart chakra at the center.
